how to right click on a mac

You can right-click on a Mac in a few simple ways.
Two-Finger Click (Trackpad)
The most common and default method is to tap or press the trackpad with two fingers at the same time. This will bring up the right-click or secondary-click menu.
Control-Click (Keyboard and Mouse/Trackpad)
This method works universally on any Mac with any pointing device.
- Press and hold the
Control
key on your keyboard. - While holding the key, perform a normal click on your trackpad or mouse.
Corner Click (Trackpad)
You can set up a specific corner of your trackpad to act as a right-click area.
- Open System Settings (previously System Preferences).
- Go to the Trackpad section.
- Under the “Point & Click” tab, find the setting for Secondary Click.
- From the dropdown menu, choose “Click in bottom right corner” or “Click in bottom left corner”. Once enabled, clicking that corner will function as a right-click.
Using a Mouse
- Apple Magic Mouse: You can enable right-clicking in System Settings > Mouse. Under “Secondary Click,” choose “Click on right side.” After that, simply clicking the right side of the mouse will work as a right-click.
- Any Standard Mouse: If you connect a two-button USB or Bluetooth mouse to your Mac, the right button will automatically function as a right-click, just as it does on a Windows PC.
